We also have nectarines, which are in essence are a fuzzless peach. The two main varieties are Flavortop and Redgold. They both  are freestone Canadian Harmony Loring Red Haven Early Glo Crest Haven Flaming Fury  There are approximately 15 acres of peaches on this farm. Peaches require extensive  care and can only be grown on special well drained soils. They must be trimmed, thinned and picked by hand more than three times before the whole tree is harvested.  We are located at the northern most limit for growing peaches. The main reason why we can grow peaches in Northern New York is the warming effect of Lake Ontario in the winter. The weather here near  the shores of Lake Ontario is mild, compared to southern New York and Northern PA.
